Redo day…

We all have them… a day when you let loose, eat whatever you want and do the opposite of the healthy goals you have set for yourself. I recently ate a lunch mainly of French fries and dark chocolate in the ski lodge, ignoring the healthy salad I had made. Don’t worry it happens to everyone and the beautiful thing is you have a chance to start fresh the following day. Don’t think that all is lost just because you made poor choices for one meal or one day - that is being human! We all have a chance to have a fresh start every day when we wake up. So stop beating yourself up and/or having a feeling that all is lost and you will keep eating Doritos for the whole month. Try this Detox smoothie as a way to reset, support your liver and start the day with a new beginning.

Detox Beet Smoothie

  • 1 c water or coconut water

  • 1 c beets frozen or steamed

  • 1/2 c spinach, kale (optional)

  • 1-2 stalks of celery

  • 1 scoop collagen or protein powder ( I prefer collagen as it doesn’t have any flavor)

  • juice of 1/2 lemon

Blend all ingredients together in a blender mixing well. Beets help with decongesting the liver and are bile-thinning agents which will contribute to stronger digestion. Enjoy this liver supporting, gut healing smoothie to get you back on track or start your day in a nourishing way!
